ANNUAL STAKEHOLDER MEETING & NATIVE PLANT WORKSHOP — OCTOBER 1, 2026, 4PM @ NE TECH, GROVE, OK

Do you want to help our pollinators AND contribute to improved Grand Lake water Quality? On Thursday night, October 1st, the Lake O’ The Cherokees Subwatershed Association will be hosting an event to do just that…   It’s called the “3’ x 3’ Challenge.”

What is the 3’ x 3' Challenge?  It’s an effort to get homeowners and businesses to convert 3 square feet of their property into pollinator habitat.  This not only helps the pollinators with food and a place to hang out; these plant boxes do more by also helping to filter sediment and pollutants before they reach Grand Lake and in reducing the area where fertilizers and pesticides are used.

Our event will include everything you need to create your habitat: native plants and seeds, dirt, and the garden frame to convert a 3’ x 3’ portion of your property into a pollinator garden. 

The 3’ x 3’ event, refreshments, and our association’s annual meeting will be Thursday, October 1st, from 4-6 pm at the Grove NE Tech Campus at 8705 US Hwy 59 N in Grove.  That’s just south of Sailboat Bridge.

Northeast Oklahoma is on the migration path for Monarch butterflies, but our own butterflies, moths, and bees (yea, bees!) will also benefit.  So, we hope to see you there!
